Style’s manufacturing partner, Dorma Huppe, has renewed and re-verified the HPDs (Health Product Declarations) for its Variflex and Variflex Glass moveable walls.

The verification primarily supports LEED Green Building projects. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the most widely used green building rating system in the world, providing a framework for healthy, efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.

The Health Product Declarations contain a list of all the ingredients of a building product, and information about their health effects. It was developed by the HPD Collaborative to disclose potential health risks of materials. As a result, an HPD is a way of earning points in the LEED v4 system for the LEED credit ‘Materials and Resources – Building Product Disclosure and Optimization – Material Ingredient Reporting’.

“Sustainability and social impact sit at the heart of all new build and refurb projects,“ said Michael Porter, group managing director at Style Partitions, “which is why, as the exclusive UK partner for Dorma Huppe’s moveable walls, we are incredibly excited by the renewal and re-verification of their HPDs.

“The building industry has struggled for a long time with the lack of transparency regarding the health impacts of building materials, and in the past many architects, specifiers and contractors have lacked the information they require to make informed decisions about the products they use.

“The HPDs on Dorma Huppe’s Variflex and Variflex glass system means we can provide reassurance to our customers and evidence from an accredited body.”
